Airsoft in Denmark: Forskelle mellem versioner

Airsoft in Denmark is not very different from airsoft around the globe in terms of aspirations and interests. There is speedsoft (Danish) as well as milsim (Danish) and everything in between. As a foreigner that wants to play airsoft, there are a handful of rules that are good to know besides the minimum age of 16 years.

Rules

The Danish authorities have issued a series of formal rules that cover protection as well as general safety on and around the field.

Formal rules

Masks that cover your entire face is required such as paintball masks as well as googles and masks that cover your mouth are accepted.
Some fields prohibits glasses such as Wiley X and Oakley M. Frames (Danish).
Mesh goggles are not recommended. Most fields prohibit them due to potential pellet (Danish) fragmentation. Some field accept them though.
It is illegal in Denmark to play without a mouth guard that covers your lips.

Gamedays

There is little coordination between the Danish airsoft fields and event operators. As such expect big games to be placed on the same day.

Gamemodes

Some games have multiple names. Thus the list below is neither exhaustive nor authoritative, but provides guidance in what to expect.

Team death match (also called "lives in a bucket"): Is typically played as a game where each side has a fixed spawn and at times with limited lives.
Kill confirm: Each player has a fixed number of revives or respawns.
Domination: Game with limited time in which both sides have to take a set of points to win and typically hold them until the time runs out. Alternatively a new timer is set, when one side has all domination points.
Bomb games: One side has to defend a series of points, where the other side has to place a bomb. Typically the game is reversed.

Joule and safety distances

All Danish fields (Danish) operate with safety distances based on the kinetic power (joule) of your airsoft gun. The table below is for reference only as measuring the FPS or MPS and finding the corresponding joule is not considered a valid measurement. Instead you can ask a referee to measure the kinetic power with a chronograph (Danish). Each field has a maximum joule.

Pellets

A pellet may be as large as 6 milimetres in diametre but not any larger. Pellets must be made of plastic.

Regarding Novritsch's Full Thrust system and pellets of other materials than plastic

Danish law (Danish) prohibits the usage of pellets that are larger than 6 milimetres.

Utilisation of lasers

Lasers are prohibited.

Membership of nationwide association

In Denmark we do not require individual airsofters to be a member of a nationwide association like the British UKARA nor do we require that fields are. Instead each field must have a valid insurance, which is among the requirements that is needed for a police approval (Danish).

Informal rules

There are also a set of informal rules that are partly codified. These rules revolve around behavior on the field.

Being a gentleman: While it is at times codified, it is always expected that you take a hit, when you are in doubt.
Some fields promote shots against the body as opposed to headshots.
Death rags (Danish) are not mandatory, but are recommended on the larger terrain based fields. While there is no specific colour to choose, bright yellow is recommended to avoid confusion with team armbands.
Filming on Danish fields is legal although films that humiliate opposing airsofters are frowned upon. General Data Protection Rules (GDPR) apply.
